from Australia, great vid thankyou, I've been using Yokohama GO12 then went to GO15 for almost 10 years and have put them on all sorts of cars from a ford falcon LTD, Holden rodeo, and currently on my BMW X5 (yes I do take the BMW off road) and I have never had any issue with traction, noise or durability. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED in my opinion

Honestly when I actually got informed on these add ons for your rig and started to understand how over priced everything is I went DIY... AKA Prinsu roof rack or Sherpa for $900-1400 for my 4 Runner, found out what they're made of etc and was honestly sick to my stomach. The Extruded Aluminum for the racks and cross bars can be bought from multiple sights who will cut to your needs etc for $100-200 and a few pieces of Aluminum/Metal for rails and front flair is $100 or less.. so you can build your own for $300 or even less... Thats a major upcharge for something that can be built with some time, homework, and a angle grinder... 😅

Some people in the comments don’t get it. 1. Camping and overlanding different they may have similarities but not the same. 2. Overlanding is not dead, not even in the slightest bit. 3. The problem is content creators show casing something people have been doing for decades and dressing it up with B roll shots and sponsored gear making it seem trendy. That’s their fault that companies see an opportunity to capitalize on quick cash. 4. For those complaining on why some people keep gear on their vehicles it’s a 50/50 chance that some of it is practical for everyday use and some are people too lazy to remove the stuff after putting it on. The community is really becoming sad and diluted because of some content creators.

What tire of the 3 would you get if you were at a rock quarry(mine) every day?

I appreciated this video. I owned the old duratracs and found them loud but much better in snow than ko2's. However, they wore badly and cupped in around 30k. Alignment and improper rotation may have been the cause, not sure. One thing I find with these tire review videos is that people rarely mention slush, that dreaded point at which snow starts to melt due to salt. This condition is my biggest concern. Duratracs were the worst tire I have ever had. Almost 2 pounds out of balance, tried everything to get them balanced and eventually gave up, lost my money and moved on.

But where they actually available as a 4 door “dual cab” from factory? That’s the most interesting part for me

Went from the old duratrac to a maxxis razr at. It was a very cheap 35x12.5 compared to the other well known brands in the US. Literally saved $100 a tire compared to the big names these days like ridge grappler or Mickey T Bajas. I picked them up cuz the Aussies swear by maxxis and they know a good tire brand. So far they have been way better than the OLD duratracs at pretty much everything. Now it has me wondering how they stack up against the new duratracs. Not that I have any regrets, I never get the same tire/brand a second time in a row. I always try something different.

I personally swear by Dura Tracs. I worked at Les Schwab for 15 years and have seen just about everything out there. I live in east Idaho and my main hobby is snowmobiling, but I also hunt/fish/camp/shoot...anything outdoors basically and I've never found a tire that did so much, so well. I drive an F150 and with my sled in the back, I can conquer the worst that Island Park and W. Yellowstone has to offer. Once this 3rd set wears low, I WILL BE getting this updated tire. Yes the BFG AT3 road a little better, but that's not important to me at all. What's most important to me is winter traction and the BFG as well as the Toyo's don't hold a candle to the Dura Trac's traction. The 3 sets I've had have all worn like iron, no cupping or feathering, but I probably pay more attention to my tires than your average consumer. The Baja Boss' and the Falken At3 are also strong considerations as some of my buddies swear by them (especially the Falken), but I'll be a Dura Trac guy for years to come. SO GLAD they didn't change too much of the original design!!

The old Duratrac's have been great on my Jeep XJ for about 11 years now lol and my Silverado 2500HD. I'm not sure if I'll replace them with new ones or switch to Mastercraft CXT's. We use the CXT's on some of our work pickups and they've been just as good in rain, mud and snow as the Duratracs and a good bit cheaper.

Any time you cut your coax check your SWR. Don't cut it too short ..... it's hard to stretch it, lol. Look up on Google .....SWR changes when cable is cut.

40” Nitto trail grapplers have great road and Offroad characteristics. I love them on my Jku. I’m going to try ko3’s in 35’s for my raptor. I hope it doesn’t bite me because I like my current ko2’s

Nate, you're soooo spot on. Just to your point: would you rely on a company that makes various roofracks AND fridges AND recovery gear. etc. etc. etc and all of this under the same name without any history or expertise? I hope not. xD

I can confirm the new RT captures & spits rocks a lot more than the previous version. Duratracs on F150 since 2011 (among many other brands - always back to Duratrac), on F250 since 2020, changed to Duratrac RT in April 2024.

I love my white letter KO2's and I really hope that the KO3's will be available with the white letters as well. I'm just old school like that...

I worked for a county in a mountain town in Colorado, I maintained county vehicles, all the sheriffs department trucks and rescue trucks. We exclusively used Duratracs, they were an absolute nightmare! Constant uneven wear, constantly out of balance which made me have to rebalance every time vehicles came in for an oil change, 3K miles, ridiculous! We switched to BFG’s and all those issues went away. Stay away from Duratracs is what this professional would tell you.

The duratrac has historically been trash. It wears so fast and gets destroyed in rocks.

I can't imagine being worried about a 225lb tent in the back of a 1500 truck? You said it was made to solve the problem of fitting in the bed of a short bed half ton right? So who cares about the Subaru or 4runner? That's like complaining that E rated tire is too heavy for the Subaru....... because it wasn't made with that vehicle in mind.
